Value Education Series for School Children
Education must make life Enlightened. The objective of value education is to realise the power of one’s self and others, and the importance of its development.
Value Education helps one’s life purposeful, meaningful and joyful, and ultimately leads to social and community development. This on-going process will make the person enlightened – means a wise human person.
In short, value education means a life journey from Self to Social; internal to external; loving oneself to others; narrow-mindedness to broad-mindedness; knowledge to wisdom.
Making children as better humans and citizens, we named the value education series book as “Enlightened Citizens – A life Journey from Self to Social.”
The lessons of Class VI (8 lessons) is focussing on Creating a Culture of Promoting Human Life;
Class VII (8 lessons) is on Creating a Culture of Social Harmony;
Class VIII (10 lessons) – on Creating a Culture of Unity and Diversity;
Class IX (10 lessons) is on Creating a Culture of Caring the Mother Earth.

• The lessons are written based on anthropological method that is, based on day-to-day lived experiences;
• The contents rich, reflective and transformative;
• Adopted child-friendly approach
• Participative, interactive, reflective, sharing, discussing, dialoguing, interviewing methods are adopted. Because the purpose is that they have to practice in day today’s life.
• Value education is not exam-oriented rather life-oriented. The learners assimilate the values and put into practices, unlike forgetting them after the exams.
The Indian Social Institute, New Delhi, has published four modules for four classes this year, 2026 – from VI to IX, next year, 2027, we will be publicising four more modules for rest of the classes – from III to V, and X.
